Are SEO Company Fees Reasonable?

March 3rd, 2010 David Kalin No comments

If you ever need to price around for SEO services you might begin to wonder why there seems to be such a wide range in fees from one SEO company to another. It’s not uncommon to find prices ranging anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well over a thousand dollars per month for what appears to be the same type of service. You may also be asking yourself why these charges seem so high to begin with.

It’s typically a rule of thumb that the more time needing to be spent on a project the more that project will cost, and there’s no exception to this rule when it comes to hiring an SEO company. The fact is that much of the work required to get your website ranking higher on the search engines is overwhelmingly time consuming. You can choose to work on it for only 10 hours per week or 100 hours per week. The more time that is put in the quicker you will see results (if the work is being done properly) and this is one of the main reasons why some SEO specialists are charging more than others, they are simply planning on devoting more or less man hours to your project each month.

If they spend only 10 hours per week working with your website how much do you think they should charge? At only $10 per hour that’s still $400 per month not counting any additional expenses you might incur such as any link “buying” you might want them to do for you, or Pay Per Click campaign management which is yet another aspect of SEO marketing services. Now if you throw in an employee or two you can easily see how even a very tiny company can be forced to charge at least double this price if not more. This is all taking into consideration that you’re dealing with a reputable person or company who’s doing the work for you. Finding someone who is both honest AND good at what they do is a challenge in itself which I will save for another article on another day for now.

So as you shop around you should now realize that the pricing will most certainly be in direct correlation to how much time they are planning on working with your website each week. A good SEO Company will provide some sort of weekly or monthly report either oral or in printed form that will clearly outline exactly what was performed for that time period and what if any changes have occurred yet. While you can’t expect many changes right away (these things tend to take many months before they start to pay off) they should still provide the information and if they’re really an honest company they will also provide information about how much time was actually spent on the account as well, but don’t count on it. Just remember this…if they offer all sorts of fancy reports that include all sorts of technical information like metrics that compare your site to your competitors, while that may be all well and good (if you truly require that sort of information for your own records), it’s not going to tell you anything about your SEO’s performance and how much it’s costing you over the long run…so ask about it before signing your life away.

Obviously an SEO expert who can achieve your goals has a perfect right to expect to be well compensated for his services and certainly deserves it as long as he can deliver on your expectations. Seeing prices of $800-$1200 per month should be seen as perfectly reasonable as long as the cost doesn’t outweigh the benefit, which of course depends upon just how much your sales might increase for being on the first page of Google for a particular key phrase. But it’s not an SEO’s job to predict your return on investment. His real job is to get you improved search engine rankings and more traffic to your site. These are all factors that need to be considered between you and your SEO service and the most important point to remember here is that you should be looking for someone who is willing to take the time to openly discuss them with you.

SEO And Your Small Business

February 11th, 2010 Laura Parker No comments

The online marketing industry is really buzzing these days with the talk of the search engine optimization industry. For new businesses though, all of this talk of SEO and bantering about acronyms can get a bit confusing – small business are left wondering just precisely what this industry is and if they need to consider optimizing their own sites.

Small business are on tight budgets and finding the money to pay for proper search engine optimization, or find DIY instructions can seem daunting. One of the big myths in the industry is that SEO has to be incredibly difficult and that it’s not worth the effort it takes to properly optimize. That’s just case though and every single small business with a monetized site selling products and services benefits from the traffic that major search engines bring to their virtual doorstep.

Small businesses and monetized blogs have a lot of potential to benefit from niche and targeted traffic from the major search engines. The real key though, and something not understood by all new companies launching into online marketing efforts, is that only targeted search traffic is actually beneficial. SEO is intended to allow your site to place in the search engine for valid keyword for which a potential client would likely search for your product or service.

Ideal search engine optimization on the other hand is intended to bring organic search traffic into your website with specific keywords that your target market is likely going to be using to find your business. SEO efforts, as a part of a total online marketing campaign, are intended to boost a site’s natural and organic placement in the search engine.

Small businesses have a lot to gain from SEO because the entire purpose of optimization is to bring in more highly targeted potential customers. In that way, both newly launching and existing companies can really focus their online marketing efforts through an effective search engine optimization campaign that focuses only on bringing in niche and targeted search traffic that is most likely looking for the products and services offered on your site.

The central point to all of this is that SEO has a lot of value for all small (and large) business operating on the Web today. There are both ethical and unethical ways to use search engine optimization, but the unethical tactics equate to spam. Ethical SEO efforts though are essentially one of the most important parts of launching a new online business. The main goal of SEO is to enhance the web presence of an company and better place that site in the search engines for a specific and niche keyword that is highly relevant to the optimized site.

Before considering the pricey investment of corporate SEO services, the line of DIY SEO products for small businesses provide an amazing, affordable jump-start for new companies looking to maximize their online marketing efforts through Travel Online Partners.

What Is So Impressive About A Reverse Telephone Search Service?

January 31st, 2010 Marc Marseille No comments

A reverse telephone lookup directory can easily offer you extra info in a more accurate way when you’re trying to find a way to reach somebody. Land lines and cellular numbers alike are carried on these services, which can make calling someone much simpler and more correct.

Writing down a phone number on a slip of scrap paper is one of the quickest ways to misplace it. Of course, when you forget to go into your cell phone to save the phone number, it only takes a small amount time before your telephone’s memory simply deletes it. A lost telephone number can mean a personal or small business loss that can’t be recovered.

The user responsive service is there to help you discover the people you desire in your life. Maybe you have a long lost buddy or a family member that has grown separated that you’d like to reconnect with. For companies, the use of the database can help conserve a deal at the very last minute or help you reach suppliers who didn’t distribute.

One of the utmost rewards to subscribing to a reverse telephone investigation database is the capacity to have access to cellular phone numbers. The conventional white and yellow pages only list land lines, and more and more people are chucking the land line and employing their mobile telephone as their only means of contact. Locating them may hinge on finding their cellular mobile phone number.

You can receive additional information. Exactly how much supplementary details much vary with the database, but physical addresses and even the names of people lawfully residing at the residence can easily be obtained.

What does every part of this affect you? Surprisingly little. A reverse telephone investigation subscription directory gives you oodles of right of entry for a single, minute annual fee. The final result of finding the person you want can often become beyond price, whether it’s for personal or small business reasons.

What are you waiting for, the lone thing needed to achieve a reverse lookup is a number. perform a land line number search or a cell phone lookup in minutes.

Weighing the Different Options in Small Business Opportunities

January 5th, 2010 Damian Papworth No comments

If you are an entrepreneur out looking for a small business opportunity, it is certainly a good time to be alive. Since the rise of internet businesses, there have been fewer and fewer limitations for someone with a great idea. No matter the type of business you are considering, you should be sure to do your homework and avoid the mistakes common to many startups.

Like many people venturing into business for the first time, you may be following a lifelong dream. There are a couple of questions every entrepreneur should ask him/herself at the outset. For example, is this business the type of thing which comes naturally to you? Is it one of the first things on your radar at the start of the day? Finding the right match for your personality type is important, as is gauging the level of your commitment. Would you drop everything else in life to see the business through? If the answer is no, that isn’t necessarily bad news, as your emotional commitment will be less demanding.

If you are initiating a project nearer and dearer to your heart, certain advantages will appear. In terms of waking up and dreading a day at the office, it will be unlikely to encounter such mornings. The material you are working with will come easily, and your level of expertise will have a natural appeal to clients and employees alike. Issues may arise in different departments. For perfectionists used to being the authority in a company (e.g. an IT Specialist), there may be a lot to learn as far as people skills are concerned. Confidence in your approach is essential, but you have to beware of alienating clients with inflexibility.

If you have gotten into business looking for little more than a reliable revenue stream, a franchise business might be something worth exploring. Instead of sweating over your company’s design and structure, the layout is already done for you. You will primarily have to use your good judgment and exercise the business sense you probably already have. Challenges may arise from other directions, such as the product itself. You may have to learn a good deal about smoothies or chocolates in order to truly master the business model and succeed – problems which wouldn’t arise in a field of your expertise.

When considering the different small business opportunities available, always have a plan ready in case your project fails. Give yourself a window in which you can get back on your feet and start over. Think of it as a safety net.

Small business opportunities pop up all over the place. You may find an opportunity online which sounds great, or simply see the need for a new business in your community.

Don’t become discouraged if your first project does not succeed. For every successful business person, there are a number of failures to take into account.

No matter what happens, the joy of starting a small business comes back to independence. You begin and end the day as the master of your own domain.

Internet Marketing Is So Much Fun

November 3rd, 2009 Simon M Skinner No comments

Search Engine Optimization. Doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, does it? Even when you call it SEO, it still just sounds so… technical. Thankfully, SEO doesn’t have to be some sort of dreadful thing.

If you take the time to learn a little about search engine optimization and are willing to practice, you just may find that SEO has become one of your favorite things to do! First of all, let me explain what search engine optimization is. In essence, SEO is using keywords (the search terms people use when conducting a search on Google, Yahoo or other search engines) in your website, your articles, anything else which will be published on the web. Why is this done? Because using these terms makes a website or article easier to find using a search engine. Since most people don’t look to deeply into their search results ? a page or two, usually, you’ll want your website to be as closer to the top of that list as possible. SEO is a big part of getting there. Let’s say for instance that you have a website which sells flowerpots. You’ll want to make sure that your website is optimized for the same words that people search for when trying to find flowerpots online.

SEO doesn’t have to be terribly complicated and you can have fun doing it. The secret is to look at optimizing your text as something fun rather than a chore. Once you practice a little and gain some skill at it, you’ll find that it’s something you enjoy doing. So what can you do to make SEO fun? Make a game of it. Here’s how ? start by just writing down everything you’d like to say on your website. Don’t worry too much about your keywords yet, just write! After you get your first draft down, go through it and identify all of the keywords and key phrases you’ve already included. Next, go back and try to work in other keywords which you didn’t include the first time. One trick is to try replacing pronouns like “it” that refer to a keyword. Make sure that your text still makes sense though!

Of course while you are having fun with SEO, don’t go too crazy with it. Remember that too much SEO can be as bad as none at all. While it may look okay to you, it will make the text overdone. Usually you’ll find that it is recommended to have about 1-2% keyword density within your articles. Basically this means that for every 100 words that you write, you should have 1-2 keywords in that 100 words. So, if you write an article that is 400 words long, then you should have anywhere from 4-8 keywords in the entire article. When you are trying to hit the right amount of keywords, make it into a game and see how close you can get to the right amount the very first time that you try.

SEO isn’t completely effortless, but with some practice you’ll find that you know something a lot of other people don’t ? that SEO isn’t as hard as many think and can actually be fun to do. Just remember to keep your keywords balanced and you’ll be able to get a better ranking for your website while writing content that people will actually want to read.

Top Rankings Are Possible With Well Optimized Web Pages

October 23rd, 2009 Michael Fleischner No comments

Starting any search engine optimization campaign with anything other than keyword research is a waste of time. To be truly successful with SEO you must begin with a well researched keyword strategy. Once you’ve identified the most important keywords for your campaign, the next step is to optimize web pages for top rankings. I’ve discovered a number of techniques that work especially well for on page optimization.

There are a number of areas to focus on when thinking about on page optimization. The most important factors include meta tags, load speed, and URLs. Although some of these may seem obvious to those of you who have spent just a little time learning about search engine optimization, individuals often address these important areas incorrectly.

Meta tags provide large search engines a quick way to identify what a web page is all about. When tags are formatted correctly, search engine spiders have an easy way of evaluating content and properly ranking web pages. Although meta tags by themselves can’t significantly improve a web site’s ranking, they can definitely hurt if not properly formatted. You need to integrate additional on page optimization best practices but properly formatted meta tags are essential.

Meta tags should have a title tag which has your most important keywords and contains no more than 60 characters. This is the number of characters that can be shown on Google search results. Your description tag which is also displayed after a user does a search engine query, should be no more than 150 characters. This tag is most effective when mentioning your keywords two times.

The last meta tag worthy of description is the keyword tag. This tag is misused all too often and it may actually be hurting your search engine rankings. When using a keyword tag, focus on only a dozen of your most important and highly trafficked keywords. Search engines should know that you are an authority site and worthy of top rankings. Do your research and only include the keywords that truly matter. You can also evaluate the sites in the top positions and model their keywords as long as they are included on your web site or blog.

In addition to having your meta tags in place, the speed at which your site loads is very important. Slow loading websites are penalized by Google. What’s the big deal with a slow web site or web page you might ask? Major search engines are all about giving the browser a good user experience. If you site has a lot of broken links or loads slowly, Google considers this a bad experience and will penalize you with lower rankings. Make sure that your page loads in less than six seconds on a standard connection. There are a number of tools that can help you measure load speed.

The third and certainly one of the most important factors is URL structure. It is true that having your keyword in the URL helps but it is not the only or the most heavily weighed optimization factor by Google. There are plenty of examples of sites that include the keyword in the URL being outranked by other web sites. If you can purchase a URL that has your keyword in it though, consider it advantageous. If you are unable to do so, consider adding a folder to your main directory or page to your site that includes the keyword you want to optimize your site for. A good example would be www.sample.com/keyword. By doing so you are placing your keyword close to the root and giving it more value. Also consider a sub domain strategy.

When thinking about search engine optimization and embarking on your first optimization campaign, start with on page optimization. Focus your efforts on developing a web site that is easily searched and ranked with the help of the on page optimization factors we discussed. The topics we discussed including Meta tags, website load times and URL are among the most important on page optimization factors you can apply to improve your rankings.
